1.) Software update takes over the entire machine. While this isn’t that big of a deal, a large update on a slow connection could render the machine useless for several hours while it downloads the files. You could also manually pull down the update and run it. But one of my favorite tricks was to let Software update run, then force quit it until I could afford the time to reboot the machine. Now this doesn’t happen.

2.) Spaces. I thought I was going to love using it, but honestly it’s become too much of a pain. The biggest issue is that it doesn’t act like I expect it too. I need two things to make it perfect. I need a “send to x space” option by right clicking on the application. And I need to be able to open the same program in multiple spaces instead of being dragged back to the window it’s running in.

3.) New Folder Icons really suck. At first I liked them. But now that I’ve been using them heavily it’s really cutting into my productivity. “Is that the Documents folder, or a normal one?” is a constant question. I know they can just be physically changed, but that only fixes the main machine I’m on. What about the other two dozen machines I log in to on a weekly basis and use for several hours? No, compared to Tiger, icons just weren’t planned out that well. It does contribute to a nice clean GUI, but it’s a step backwards in productivity.

4.) The Downloads folder is a real pain. It’s cool if you’ve only got a couple of items in it, but if you use Firefox or like me have 30+ items in it that need to be filed, looked at or deleted, it’s hard to deal with. I’d prefer to have Downloads back on the Desktop so that they’re in my face for me to take care of when I want too.

5.) Quickview isn’t consistent. Luckily Developer xdd made this handy little plugin. I believe my productivity has gone up by being able to Quickview entire folders. This is something Apple should have done.6.) (Bonus!) The Arpeture/Leopard Bug. Not being able to change my backgrounds picture to my folder, big problem. Luckily Time Machine can restore ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist for you. I would have thought that 10.5.1 update would have fixed this, as it seems like it should be a fairly easy fix. None the less I have the overwhelming need to have my backgrounds switching every  minutes through my personal pictures. Got a complaint about Leopard yourself? Please post!
