Congress is set to vote on the Bush’s $700+ Billion plan again tonight. Added to the bill were provisions to “…add tax breaks for businesses and the middle class and increase deposit insurance…”
Yahoo reports that calls in opposition to the Bill have dropped to 50-50 instead of 90% against. Hopefully House Leader Nancy Pelosi can drive this the other way, but she needs a lot of support to do so.
I’m STILL against this bill for the simple fact that there is no fall back plan and NO punishment for those who got us here in the first place. In addition adding in more Tax breaks on top of the deficit we are currently running is an extremely bad idea. All this is doing is delaying the inevitable.
It’s my opinion that without drastic changes, the US is headed towards collapse. I’m young enough that the money I’m putting into social security will probably never be seen by myself again. I suspect that many more people are in the same boat. There is no overall fix, but this bill is going to be a huge step in breaking the economy even further.
Stop it? We need to kill it. Contact your Congressperson now!
