According to Yahoo News, 160 US Military Vehicles were destroyed by Militants. The vehicles were physically located in Pakistan near the port city of Peshawar. The number of attackers varies between 30 and 300 depending on which side of the story is being listened too.
My question is, why wasn’t there more security on the vehicles? These are an important item in the fight against the Taliban and their associated terrorist friends. Yes it may ONLY have been Ten Million dollars worth of equipment, and may actually have little hinderance on actual military actions by the US. But this is uncalled for period.
“Lightly armed” Police, and private security guards should not be protecting military assets, even at a supply terminal. I assume this is probably more cost effective for the US military to just let this go, but the moral boost this gives to the militants alone is a big deal. Worse it may give them the courage to start going after harder, more important targets.
